We all develop under eye bags at some point in time, male or female it makes no difference. From newborns to seasoned seniors, we will all get them at some point in our lives. When we are young the bags under our eyes come and go, but as we age they seem to stay longer and longer as the years go by.

  • Dark circles

What Causes Bags to Form Under Your Eyes In The Morning?

Allergies and sinus issues not only make your nose stuffy, but they can cause the sinus tissues to swell. Swelling of the sinus tissues can appear as puffiness under the eyes.

Tobacco has nicotine in it. Nicotine delays wound healing and accelerates the aging process. The nicotine in tobacco wreak havoc on your natural sleep patterns, when your sleep pattern is disrupted this can cause fluids to collect underneath your eyes. Alcohol may be a liquid, but it dehydrates the body. When a person is dehydrated the skin under the eyes becomes saggy and weak, thus, causing bags to form.

Cypress Oil has decongestant abilities. It helps improve skin discoloration, and reduce puffiness. The scent is pleasant to the senses while calming inflamed skin. Lastly, it has astringent properties which accelerate healing of the skin tissues.

Hydrate your body

Drink plenty of water to flush toxins out of your body. I personally try to drink 3 liters of water a day, not all at once, but throughout the day. I start drinking water as soon as I wake up in the morning and I try to be done drinking water about 3 hours before bed. This way you have enough time to empty your bladder, so you won’t make middle of the night bathroom runs.

BabeBox-Review

Product: BabeBox

Price: Plans starting at $24 a month

Quantity: 4-6 Full-size products

Rating: 8 out of 10

The company is a cruelty-free company, which is always a good thing. Your first month is free. You just pay for the shipping and handling. Babe Cosmetics is mentioned on Buzzfeed, Ellen, Refinery 29, and Allure to mention a handful.

What is in the box?

  • 4 to 6 full-size products
  • Exclusive and limited edition items.

How much is it to subscribe?

The babebox can be subscribed to on a plan basis.

First month

The first month is free, but you have to pay $6.95 for shipping and handling

The 3 months subscription ships every month and shipping is free. You can pay $27/mo or you can pay $81 for the full 3 months.

The 12-month subscription ships every month and shipping is free. $24/mo or $288 if you choose to pay for all 12 months at once.

My final thoughts

I like the Babebox. I think it’s a good subscription box, however, I do think there should be more items included if you’re going to subscribe to the 6 months and 12 months plans. I feel that a company should include more items as the plans go up.

For example, the 3-month subscription should come with 4 to 6 full-size items. The 6-month subscription should come with 6 to 8 full-size items and the 12-month subscription should come with 8 to 10 items, but this option should be only if a person is paying in full for the plan that they choose.

Eyebrow Tattoo History

The tattooing that we know today originated in the Polynesian Islands. The word Ta tau means ” appropriate, balanced, and fitting”. This explains what we try to achieve when we get semi-permanent eyebrow tattoos.

The history of permanent cosmetics began thousands of years ago. Sharpened sticks and stones were used to in plant natural pigments into the skin. Medical Reasons

Some people may get permanent eyebrow tattoos because they suffer from Alopecia Areata.

How long does it last?

Semi-permanent eyebrow tattoos lasts 12 to 24 months. It just depends on the person.

At the end of the day, it is up to you. I always recommend that you should stick to what you know, whether you get a permanent eyebrow tattoo or a semi-permanent eyebrow tattoo. Do your research, weigh your options, and look at the pro and cons of the procedure.

Mink Lash Extensions- Review

Product: Mink Lash Extensions

Price: $47.59

Cheapest Place To Buy: Amazon

Size/Quantity: 10 pairs

Rating: 10 out of 10

Overview

I wear lashes on occasions, and when I do wear them I want to make sure I look right and comfortable. These lashes are highly quality; 100% Siberian mink fur. They have the perfect 3D layered effect. They are glamorous and they come with a shine to die for. I really like this particular brand of mink eyelashes. They are more comfortable than synthetic lashes, I can attest to that.

Pros

I found installing the lashes to be very easy and not painstaking at all. I recently got a fetish for false lashes. I was browsing Amazon’s website looking for some appealing lashes to purchase and I came across these lovely lashes and I just had to have them. I purchased the lashes and received them in 2 days.

I did not have any issues with the company or the product. I was reading the reviews, that’s what I solely base my chance of purchase on, and I saw one merchant sold a product that made their customer break out. I could not find that problem anywhere with this merchant. I was relieved to find that no one had any adverse reactions to these lashes.

Goo Goo Hair

Goo Goo hair seems like a nice online boutique. I didn’t see anything wrong with the item that I purchased. I’ll just stick with the lashes because the hair types that they carry does not match with my hair texture.

Would I shop with them in the future?

Yes, I would shop with them in the future. However, I would rather use the silk lashes because of the backlash people get from uses REAL mink eyelashes, so I may find another vendor. Let me be clear, it has NOTHING to do with their product. It just has something to do with my preference.

My Final Thoughts

As I said before, these lashes are to die for. I really liked them and the price I would gift a pair to my friends. They stand up to the mink name.

Let me know about your experiences with mink lash extensions, and what brands do you prefer by leaving a comment below.

Nothing floating around the bottle that should’nt be. I cook with this oil, I use it on my face, I use it on my hair, and In even put some into my lotion bottle and shake it up, so it can mix together well. The name of the brand I like to use is Zatural. I really, really like this company and I stand by this company. The product is great and they shipped the item and I when I received it came just like they said it would.

I will always stand by this company. I love their grapseed oil product. I will continue to buy this product. I have not used any other products from them. I haven’t gotten around to it, but eventually I will. If you have used this product please leave a comment below.

Different Types Of Lash Extensions

I like to wear false eyelashes every now and again, not that I need them. I grow my own lashes to wonderful lengths. I never knock a lady for wearing false lashes, I say do what makes you happy as long as it is not causing harm to you or those around you. A lavish look or a playful eye shadow are my go to’s every now and again. That is why I add some false lash extensions to my makeup every so often. There are different types of lash extensions to choose from. Regardless of the type of lash extension, they are all categorized under these 3 main types of grouping:

  • Strip Lashes
  • Individual Flare Lashes
  • Individual Single Lashes

Ensure that you do your research and figure out which one is best for you. Most beginners use strip lashes.

A Bit Of Lash History

In 1882 the residents of Paris started sewing hair into their eyelids to create false eyelashes. I am very glad this beauty extension has evolved and come a long way.

Mink Lash Extensions

There is a lot of controversy around the subject of mink lashes. Some mink manufacturers say that the animals are not harmed during the process of obtaining the fur. This does not sit well with the PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) organization because they believe these mink farms keep the minks confined to small, cramped wire cages in filthy conditions.

Mink lashes are made by manufacturers brushing the fur of minks to obtain the fur to make the lash extensions. The wash and sterilize the fur before turning them into lashes. The fur is not only curable, but it is soft, thick, and light in weight. Mink lashes add volume and length to your real lashes; It does not give off the fake appearance most other false lashes do. They hold their curl well, plus, they are very durable. This means that they can be used over and over again up to 25 times or more if they are cared for properly. One pair of these gorgeous lashes will cost you approximately $25 to $50. However, they are so worth the investment because you can use them over and over again for a long time. In the end you wind up saving way more money than you initially spent.

Faux Mink Lash Extensions

Faux mink lashes are light and soft, like a mink’s fur. They are not comprised of a mink’s fur. Faux mink lashes are made from a material that mimics the fur of a mink. These lash extensions are comprised of a synthetic material called PBT (Polybutylene terephthalate). It is a type of polyester that is used in all sorts of products like… Toothbrushes, sports and swimwear and, of course, false eyelashes. Even though these false lash extensions are made to appear natural you will need to do a bit of leg work to get them to look as if they are yours.

You will blend your lashes and the false lashes together by using mascara and you will use an eyeliner to cover up the lash extension band. It is common for these type of lashes to look their luster after a couple uses or so. Faux lashes, in my opinion, are great for a night out on the town or a special occasion, but they can become uncomfortable during the course of the evening. This is due to the lash band being unyielding by nature and design. A single pair of these lash extensions can cost you $4 to $15, which is not bad, but considering the fact that you may have to replace them more often this will add up over time and probably more than you would like it to.

Sable Lash Extensions

Sable lash extensions are made up of high quality PBT fibers. They are very similar to mink lashes concerning the flexible form, really lightweight, and the shine that the mink lash embodies. These lashes last about 6 to 8 weeks, or until they start to thin out, similar to the way our lashes does from time to time.

Sable eyelashes are the thinnest and softest of all the lash extension types. Some sable lashes are made from real hair. They are not to be confused with mink lashes. In my research I could not uncover exactly what hair they are made of, so I assume its safe to say human hair. Sable lashes will cost you about $300 to $500. These are really worth the money invested if you don’t mind spending that amount of money on lashes.

Silk Lash Extensions

Some say silk lash extensions are better than mink lashes, so I like to think I saved the best for last. Silk lashes can be reused multiple times, they are so easy to care for, and some styles of silk lashes possess a more dramatic and intense curl. I don’t know about you but nothing is better than a dramatic and intense anything ( shows, makeup, and lashes). The curls in silk lashes hold their curl well. In addition to all those wonderful things, the fact that they are cheaper than mink lashes has got to be the cherry on top. The only difference between mink lashes and silk lashes is shape, finish, and weight. Due to their thickness, and full body they are used in more dramatic sets. Silk lashes will cost you around $18 to $25.

My Final Thought

Even though there are different types of lash extensions if can be daunting to choose the right lash extension for you. As I always say, do your research. Think long and hard about the look you want to achieve, and go from there. All in all, I like every kind of lash extension there is. For me it is all about what look I want to achieve for that day.

I know what lash to pair with what type of makeup. Let’s just say I want a more dramatic look I can then I will go for silk lashes, if I want a more natural look I have 3 lash types to choose from. Okay, now let’s say I want a lash that will not irritate my eyes before the night is out I will most likely choose every lash except faux mink lashes. When choosing the right lash extension(s) you have to know yourself and what you want if you do not know yourself, no problem, you can take the time to learn yourself. Please leave a comment and tell me about your favorite lash extension below.

Benefits Of Grape Seed Oil On Skin

There are a lot of oils that are good for your skin, and honestly there are times when I cannot choose which oil to use on my skin. BUT!!! Grape Seed oil is one of my absolute favorite. It can do so much for the body, inside and out, but I will only be speaking about the skin today…. To narrow it down more, facial skin. I am a person who likes to put their best face forward, and you can only do that by having healthy skin. Your makeup is only as good as the face underneath it. Without further ado, the benefits of grape seed oil on skin.

Grape Seed Oil History

Grape seed oil goes back a long way. Documentation from historical archives show that grape cultivation dates back between 6,000 to 8,000 years ago in the country of Georgia which is located between Eastern Europe and West Asia.

The oldest winery was located in Armenia. Many other ancient nations in the Middle East and throughout the world have records that show they too used grapes in their cultures. Grape seed oil is also mentioned in the Bible as ancient healer and it was used by Daniel in the Old Testament.

The Ideal Setting To Grow Grapes

Grapevines can thrive in temperate climates that allow the vines to grow long, that allows for warm periods during the crucial flowering, and for the fruit set and ripening periods. This process starts when temperatures reach 10 degrees Celsius or 50 degrees Fahrenheit.

Nowadays, a person can grow a grape garden or a vineyard just about anywhere if the conditions are right. This is because grapes adapt to the surrounding environment. Grapevines can grow even in extreme temperatures, however, if you are really interested in growing a grape garden or a vineyard it is imperative that you do not plant grapevines near trees or structures that block sunlight and cuts off-air circulation.

Grapeseed Oil

Grape seed oil manufactures get the oil by squeezing the kernels of wine-producing grapes. To me, the best kind of grape seed oil is refined grape seed oil. I do not like dealing with anything that is ladened with chemicals, as they can have adverse effects on the body. This oil can be commercially produced, during this process it is produced by using chemical solvents like Hexane. Hexane is classified as and air pollutant and neurotoxin.

Hexane- Chemical solvent that is found in oils

Hexane is mainly used as a solvent to extract edible oils from seed and vegetables crops ( soybeans, peanuts, corn). Commercial grades of hexane are used as solvents for glues ( rubber cement, adhesives), varnishes, and inks. It is also used as a cleaning agent (degreaser) in the printing industry. It is used in low temperature thermometers.

The potential health hazards of hexane

When people are exposed to high levels of this chemical research shows that it causes mild CNS (Central Nervous System ) depression. CNS happens when a person’s body’s normal neurological functions slowdown. CNS effects include:

  • Dizziness
  • Giddiness
  • Slight nausea
  • Headaches

Other exposures to hexane vapors may cause dermatitis and irritation of the eyes and throat in people.

Industries where hexane Is found

According to a few articles that I’ve read, several hundred million pounds of hexane are produced in the Untied States each year in the form of solvents. It can be found as a cleaning agent in printing, shoe making, textile, automotive brake repairs, and furniture making and the food industry uses it in some products as well.

How Long Does Grapeseed Oil Last?

Grapeseed oil lasts about 6 months, while the bottle is still closed. Once you open the bottle of grapeseed oil is open, it is exposed to the elements ( air, heat, and light) this is where the oxidation process begins. The oxidation of oil is an undesirable process to say the least, it is composed of a series of chemical reactions involving oxygen that degrades the quality of an oil. Oxidation eventually causes the oil to spoil in a sense, this is accompanied by off flavors and vile smells. Once this process starts it cannot be stopped, nothing lasts forever. It can be slowed down in many ways. Here are some ways to slow the oxidation process:

  • Add an antioxidant

Side note: You can add absorbic acid ( vitamin C) to your oil to inhibit the oxidation process, this is the sole purpose of adding an antioxidant.

  • Store oils in airtight containers.
  • Refrigerate oils
  • Replace the oxygen in the containers with another gas

Side Note: A good and safe gas to use for this is Nitrogen. (It is an inert gas, which means that it does not interact directly with the product).

The benefits of Grapeseed oil

This particular oil is jammed packed full of vitamin E, a lot more than olive oil. Vitamin E works as a fat-soluable axtioxidant. this fat-soluble antioxidant helps protect the cells from damaging free radicals that may cause cancer, heart disease, and more chronic illnesses. Grapeseed, whether in extract or form or oil is used to treat a number of diseases.

The uses of grapeseed oil on skin

This miraculous oil can be used in various ways on your skin:

Moisturizes Skin

Grapeseed oil is great over all for moisturizing the skin. It is lightweight and it can be used on most skin types, since it has anti-flammatory attributes. It possesses high levels of linoleic acid and it doesn’t clog pores.

Stops and prevents reoccurring breakouts and heals scars

If you have constant breakouts, grapeseed oil will be your best ally in the war on acne. It is known to clear up breakouts due to its ability to reduce redness and inflammation. Grapeseed oil may promote cellular regeneration, which helps replace the skin that has been damaged. It may seem like a super oil, however, it does not have the ability to treat blemishes below the skin.

Shrink pores

Grapeseed oil is a carrier oil. It ids in the reducing of large pores. When applied to your face it shrinks pores down because it has astringent properties.

My Final Thoughts

As you can see the benefits of grapeseed oil on skin withstands the test of time, and we have’nt even scratched the surface for possible uses for the oil. Who knows, maybe one day we may even use grape seed oil as a fuel. It is one of my favorite oil to use for the reasons I listed above. It has so many great uses and it is packed with a plentiful amount of vitamin E, more than olive oil. I believe it will continue to withstand the test of time as it has for many years. As I said before, I prefer refined oils versus commercially manufactered oils to me they are healthier.

How to grow longer eyelashes

Every lady I know wants long healthy eyelashes. I am not one to use fake lashes excessively, I only use them on special occasions to really make my makeup stand out. There are various ways to grow your eyelashes, these ways can be chemically and naturally. I personally prefer to do things naturally because I feel like products that contain chemicals can cause problems to occur in the body, but that is how I feel. Longer lashes can be achieved anyway you choose, but as for me, I use Aloe Vera and Vitamin E Oil. This is my how to grow longer eyelashes

The History Behind Aloe Vera

The first species of Aloe was described by Carl Linnaeus in 1753. Aloe Vera is a succulent plant species of the Genus Aloe. It originates from the Arabian Peninsula, however, it can grow wild in tropical climates all over the world. It is used for medicinal purposes and it is cultivated for agricultural uses as well. This particular species has been known to be used for decorative purposes; it can be grown indoors as a potted plant. You can find it in many consumer products, which include: Beverages, skin lotions, cosmetics and skin ointments.

Benefits of Aloe Vera on hair

Aloe Vera is a wonderful way to grow your lashes longer if your are wondering how to grow your eyelashes longer. Aloe Vera is present in many industries from beauty creams to healthy juices to supplements. Aloe Vera contains antiviral and bacterial properties. It contains proteolytic enzymes, they repair dead skin cells. Aloe Vera acts as a great hair conditioner; it leaves your hair smooth and shiny. It encourages hair growth, prevents itching of the scalp, and reduces dandruff.

The primary protein of hair is Keratin. Keratin consists of amino acids, oxygen, carbon, and tiny amounts of hydrogen, nitrogen, and sulfur. Aloe Vera’s chemical makeup is similar to Keratin’s make up; it rejuvenates the hair with its own nutrients, which gives it more elasticity, preventing breaking. In addition, it has anti-inflammatory properties that help soothe the scalp.

Can you apply Aloe Vera directly to your eyelashes?

The short answer to that question is yes. The most beneficial form of Aloe Vera to use on your eyelashes or hair is the raw gel of the plant.

How to properly apply raw Aloe Vera gel to your eyelashes:

  • Use an old (clean) mascara brush.
  • Cut the Aloe Vera leaf down the center in order to get to the raw Aloe Vera gel.
  • You can either rub the mascara brush directly on the gel, or scoop it out with a spoon( Make sure you hold on tight to the Aloe Vera leaf because it slippery), place it in a container, and dip the mascara brush in raw gel in the container.
  • Use a light amount of the gel; use the brush as if you were putting on mascara.
  • Leave the gel on your eyelashes overnight for optimal results.
  • Wash off in the morning.

Use caution, try not to get it in your eyes. I have’nt done that so far, but I do not think it would be a pleasant experience.

Sidenote: I combine Aloe Vera and vitamin E oil together and I do the above mentioned steps.

History behind vitamin E

Vitamin E was discovered in 1922, isolated in 1935, and first synthesized in 1938. Vitamin E is a fat-soluble nutrient that can come from several foods as well as supplement form. Some research shows that vitamin E has a positive impact on hair health.

Benefits and facts about Vitamin E

Natural Vitamin E is derived from vegetable oils, primarily soybean oil. Whereas, Synthetic Vitamin E is a product of petrochemicals. Though they may have the same name and some similar composites, they differ.

  • Natural Vitamin E is a single stereo isomer

Stereo isomers are molecules with one or more “chiral” centres (are tetrahedral atoms (usually carbons) that have four different substituent) that allow the possibility of forms with the same chemical formula but differing spatial arrangements.

  • Synthetic E is a mixture of eight stereo isomers, only one of which is the same as natural Vitamin E (alpha-tocopherol).

If you are curious about how to find out which vitamin E is natural and which one is synthetic just read the back of the vitamin E bottles. Listed below are the differing two names:

  1. Natural = d alpha-tocopherol
  2. Synthetic = dl alpha-tocopheryl

Vitamin E’s roles in healthy hair has a lot to do with its antioxidant properties. They can reduce cell damage and improve hair growth. The natural antioxidant create an environment in which the scalp and the hair can grow and maintain its steady growth pattern. The vitamin’s antioxidant properties help reduce the amount of oxidative stress and free radicals that may cause the hair follicle cells in a person’s scalp to breakdown. A lot of oils contain some portion of vitamin E. It is wise that you mix vitamin E oil with a carrier oil to dilute it, if this is not done it can irritate the skin.

Will what I eat impact my eyelash growth?

Yes, the healthier you eat the more nutrition your body gets. Eating a healthy can excel your hair growth, thus, making your eyelashes grow longer, stronger, thicker, and healthier.

Vitamin E is present in a bunch of different foods:

  • Leafy Greens
  • Nuts and Seeds
  • Vegetables oil
  • Fortified breakfast cereal

You can grow your lashes from the inside out. Using a healthy diet to grow your eyelashes is better because even if you do not use vitamin E topically you will still have long beautiful eyelashes.

My final thougths

In my experience, I have learned that you need multiple things working together all at once to achieve the results you desire, growing your eyelashes longer is no different. As you can see, from reading my article, I use Aloe Vera, vitamin E and a healthy diet to do this. As always, I encourage you to do your research. Do not just take my word for it. Use the trial and error method, Milton Hershey went bankrupt a couple of times before coming up with his world-famous chocolate recipe. Do a skin patch test, and dream big, even if longer eyelashes is your only dream.

Uncle Lee’s Tea Organic Green Tea

This tea comes packaged individually, it contains about 20 to 30 milligrams of caffeine per cup. This comes from the green tea. It contains black tea as well which possesses about 80 to 120 milligrams of caffeine. I am in love with this particular company because their teas are really tasty and they’re have many beneficial qualities too.

I’ve always used green tea for various reasons; I drink Green Tea and use it on my skin to rejuvenate it and bring life to it in the hot Summer months or the cold Winter months. My experience with using this particular brand of green tea has a been a pleasant one. In my experiences with different teas, I have tasted many a tea in my adulthood and this company stands apart from other tea producing companies.

Taste Makes Or Breaks A Tea?

Unlike many teas that I have tasted, this green tea is not pungent, nor does it taste like I am just drinking water. I actually really enjoy it and I drink it on a day to day basis. I mix it with other teas as a pick me up when I am drowsy, or just to drink it for the health benefits. This brand has tea bags, the tea leaves are not loose. It steeps quickly. To me, this tea has a sweet taste for a green tea. Maybe it is my taste buds, maybe not… I have no idea. I have tasted teas that are watered down and lack something this green tea is not one of those teas. Sometimes I have to add honey to my tea, especially a really strong bitter tea. I like to live on the sweeter side of the taste spectrum. I do not have to do that with Uncle Lee’s Tea Organic Green Tea.

I Go For The Organic Teas

I use organic teas because I do not want chemicals can to wreak havoc on my body. Harsh chemicals can cause your body to become imbalanced and that will lead to unwanted things happening. The only thing I found that concerns me is, the tea bags are oxygen bleached. I did my research on the process and it turns out that manufacturing companies use it as an alternative to bleaching with chlorine bleach. Oxygen bleaching as a process where oxygen, ozone, or hydrogen peroxide are used instead of chlorine.

My Final Thoughts

I would recommend the Uncle Lee’s Tea company to anyone. I give it a thumbs up to the Uncle Lee’s Tea Organic Green Tea for its numerous qualities. I love the way this tea tastes and I am in love with the health benefits.
